Fred’s Pro Shop is a small, owner-run ice hockey shop in Vernon Hills that recently moved to a suite on Lakeview Parkway, a short walk down the road from Glacier Ice Arena. It sells hockey equipment, team apparel and accessories and offers advice along with it.
Skate sharpening and equipment repairs are done on site, so a player can bring a pair in after practice at Glacier rather than waiting for the rink’s own counter. The shop door is unit 106 in the office building, which is easy to miss from the parking lot.
The store hours are posted on a separate page of its site, and it has closed for short breaks in the past, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Centennial Ice Arena in Highland Park is about six miles east if you also need public ice.
