What this place is
A Chicago-area hockey store; Jerry’s Hockey was established in 1975 and has three free-standing stores and a pro shop inside an ice arena.
Jerry’s Hockey Carpentersville
Jerry’s Carpentersville store is on the far north-west edge of the metro, a couple of minutes from Canlan Sports West Dundee, which makes it the nearest hockey shop for the teams and players who skate there. Crystal Ice House in Crystal Lake is about a quarter of an hour to the north.
Started in 1975, Jerry’s is a family of Chicago-area hockey stores, with three free-standing shops and a pro shop inside Nicholas Sportsplex in Mount Prospect. The company calls itself a ProSharp authorized service center, so if you already skate on a ProSharp cut, say so when you hand your skates over.
For families farther out, Jerry’s also runs a mail-in sharpening service through its Schaumburg building. On a first visit with new skates, bring the old pair along: it helps staff see how the last ones wore.
Not stated: hockey, goalie, figure, speed / long-track, recreational & rental.
Skates for sale
Hockey equipment: Jerry’s store range covers skates, sticks, helmets, protective gear, base layers, goalie gear and accessories.
