Play It Again Sports Downers Grove
This Play It Again Sports franchise, once known as the Westmont store, now trades from a blue building on Ogden Avenue in Downers Grove, and the chain’s site still files it under Westmont. It buys and sells used sports and fitness gear, including skates, alongside new equipment.
It sharpens hockey and figure skates on a Sparx machine and is unusually clear about the cuts it offers, with two hollow depths in both a regular and a Fire version, so a player who already knows a preferred cut can ask for it by name.
Willowbrook Ice Arena is about three miles south, and the Darien Sportsplex and Seven Bridges Ice Arena are within five. Pure Hockey’s goalie store is also in Downers Grove if you need new protective gear.
Sharpens: hockey, figure. Not stated: goalie, speed / long-track, recreational & rental.
