What this place is
Pure Hockey’s Downers Grove store, which the chain lists as an elite goalie location.
Pure Hockey Downers Grove
Pure Hockey’s Downers Grove store is on 75th Street in the western suburbs, and it is the chain’s goalie destination in Illinois: Pure Hockey lists it as an elite goalie location, its top goalie level, a label none of the other four Chicago-area stores carries.
It sits in the middle of a cluster of DuPage County rinks. Seven Bridges Ice Arena in Woodridge and the Darien Sportsplex are each under three miles away, and Willowbrook Ice Arena is about three and a half. Rocket Ice in Bolingbrook is a little farther south-west.
Like every Pure Hockey, the store has a service counter for sharpening, and staff can text you when your skates are done, so you can shop or grab food in the meantime. Goalies trying on a full set of pads should allow extra time on a weekend.
Not stated: hockey, goalie, figure, speed / long-track, recreational & rental.
