What this place is
The Canton store of Detroit Custom Skate Shop, at Arctic Edge Ice Arena.
Detroit Custom Skate Shop (Canton)
Detroit Custom Skate Shop opened this second store at Arctic Edge Ice Arena in Canton in the summer of 2022, bringing the figure skating shop from the Detroit Skating Club to the western suburbs. Opening hours are shorter here, mostly late afternoons and weekends, which fit around school and practice.
The services and prices are shared with the main store: hockey skates are sharpened as well as figure skates, with separate rates for recreational and competitive figure blades. Appointments are strongly advised, walk-ins are taken when a sharpener is free, and drop-offs are usually ready the next day.
Fittings and blade mounting are also by appointment at either store, and mounting comes free with new boots and blades bought from the shop. Families with skaters in Arctic Edge’s learn-to-skate or Aspire programs can have skates looked after without leaving the rink.
Sharpens: hockey, figure, recreational & rental. Not stated: goalie, speed / long-track.
