Precision Blades

Hockey skate sharpening and maintenance shop

Precision Blades: inside the store
Inside Precision Blades: hockey and lacrosse gear on the walls and racks.

Precision Blades is a skate maintenance shop on Mack Avenue in Grosse Pointe Woods that set out to give east-side hockey families a consistent place to have skates looked after. It is a Maximum Edge member, using that system for both sharpening and profiling, and every operator has been through the Maximum Edge training.

Profiles and hollows are matched to each customer. The shop also changes blades and holders, bakes, punches and stretches skates, and replaces rivets and eyelets, and it carries Step Steel runners, which sit higher than standard steel and can replace worn runners while the boot still has life left.

A Fresh Gear machine sanitizes smelly hockey bags and pads. St. Clair Shores Civic Arena is about two miles north, and the shop’s team sharpening service is listed separately on its site.

Sharpens: profiling / contouring. Not stated: hockey, goalie, figure, speed / long-track, recreational & rental.
