Currently out of season The Municipality of Muurame says its field staff start freezing the rinks when frost arrives and tend them through the winter as the weather allows; the boarded rinks are assembled each autumn and maintenance is logged in the Fluent Outdoors service. Rinks and fields beside schools are used by the schools in the daytime and are free for residents to use in the evenings, at weekends and in school holidays. Slots at the Mäkelänmäki rink can be booked from the sports director.

The municipality's page says hockey rinks and skating areas are tended in the winter season on weekdays Monday to Thursday 7:00-20:00 and Friday 7:00-13:00. All the rinks have ice hockey goals.
