Seoul's 1989 twin-rink hall

Mokdong Ice Rink opened on 1 December 1989, two years after ground was broken in December 1987, and its own page calls it the cradle of Korea's winter-sports growth. The building holds two 30 by 61 metre international-size rinks, one above ground and one below, and a stand for 5,000 spectators.

It has staged the 2016 world short-track championships, the 2025 Four Continents figure skating championships and the 2024/25 ISU short-track World Tour round four, and shows such as Disney on Ice in 2019. Its history page also lists the 1992 world junior figure skating championships and a 2007 ice hockey world championship.

The rink's page calls it the largest indoor ice rink in Korea. The Seoul Metropolitan Sports Council has run it on the city's behalf since January 2026.
