Trois-Rivières' newest arena, home of the ECHL Lions

The Colisée Vidéotron was built in District 55 in the late 2010s to replace the aging Colisée de Trois-Rivières, and it opened in September 2021 with 4,390 seats. Construction cost CA$60 million. The arena was meant to open in late 2020 with no permanent tenant after UQTR declined the first lease, and the pandemic pushed the opening back while the City worked on adding an ECHL expansion team expected to be affiliated with the Montreal Canadiens.

That team was approved in January 2021, and in June it took the name Trois-Rivières Lions after the only earlier professional club in the city, which played from 1955 to 1960. The Lions have been the main tenant since the 2021–22 season. In September 2021, Quebecor and the Lions agreed to name the building Colisée Vidéotron for five years. Public skating uses the main rink, Glace A, where the Lions play, and Glace B, a community rink with 250 seats.
