The Henderson Ice Centre is a single-sheet Lethbridge arena that the City says was built in 1975. The Galt Museum lists the Henderson Arena, circa 1975, among the rinks that filled the gap after the old Lethbridge Arena burned and was not rebuilt. The ice surface measures 190 by 85 feet and the building seats 700.
The Centre has been rebuilt in phases. When the work began it had four dressing rooms, against at least six in the City's other arenas. Phase one turned a small practice rink, decommissioned for about ten years because of high maintenance costs, into four new dressing rooms, each with its own washroom and shower, and added a heat pump system and LED lighting.
Phase two was scheduled to start in spring 2026. It moves the front doors, expands the lobby with a concession space and a new ticket office, and renovates the washrooms and dressing rooms. The City expected the full facelift to be finished in late summer 2026.
