Rainbo Sports Nashville
Rainbo Sports’ Nashville store is the city’s figure skating specialist, the Tennessee branch of a retailer that began as a small rink shop inside the Rainbo Ice Arena in Chicago. It is made for figure skaters and their coaches, from a first pair of real boots to competition skates, and it is the place in Nashville to bring a boot that hurts or a blade that needs setting right.
The shop works by appointment first. The sign on the door says the staff will try to take walk-ins, but a fitting or a mounting goes better when it is booked, so call before you drive over, above all in the weeks before a test or a competition.
Hockey players can have skates sharpened here too, but figure skating is the heart of the shop: it is the place for the boot and blade work a general sporting goods store does not do.
