Blackfalds arena opened in the Bulldogs' first season, 2021-22, now home to a BCHL team
Currently out of season The Town's page lists a free Sunday public skate in Arena 2 (6:15 to 7:30 pm, from September to March, sponsored by the Blackfalds Ag Society) but prints no year, end date or holiday dates, so no dated sessions are listed here. Official schedule update
The Eagle Builders Centre is home to the Blackfalds Bulldogs, who play in the Interior East Division of the British Columbia Hockey League. The arena was new when the Bulldogs began their first season in Blackfalds in 2021-22, and it was not finished in time for the start of that season. Until it was ready, the team's home games were played elsewhere in Alberta, including Bonnyville, Stettler, Lacombe, Penhold and Red Deer.
The franchise came from the Calgary Mustangs of the AJHL, which had struggled financially for several seasons. After a move to Strathmore fell through, the Mustangs took a leave of absence for the 2019-20 season. The AJHL then approved the sale of the Mustangs to Red Deer businessman Doug Quinn and the team's move to Blackfalds. The club announced its name, the Blackfalds Bulldogs, in April 2020. On January 20, 2024, the Bulldogs and four other AJHL teams were announced as joining the BCHL for 2024-25.
