Home ice of the Rochester Grizzlies

The Rochester Recreation Center has two 85-by-200-foot ice rinks for hockey, figure skating, curling and public skating. The South Rink seats 2,508 spectators and hosts many junior and high school hockey games. It is the main rink of the NA3HL's Rochester Grizzlies. The North Rink, used mostly for figure skating, open skating and the curling club, has limited seating. The building also holds an Olympic-length competition pool designed by Myrtha.

The Grizzlies began in May 1996 as the Minnesota Ice Hawks of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League and played in Le Sueur until 2002. The team moved to Rochester in 2002, after the Rochester Mustangs of the United States Hockey League ceased operations. It took the name Rochester Ice Hawks before the 2009–10 season. It was then accepted as an expansion team into the North American 3 Hockey League for the 2015–16 season. After the 2017–18 season the franchise was sold to the owners of the Austin Bruins, who renamed it the Rochester Grizzlies to match.

Before that, the junior Rochester Mustangs called the Recreation Center home for 17 years. The Mustangs won the American National Junior A championship in 1987, 1988 and 1998. The building also hosted the 2001 women's WCHA tournament.
