What this place is
A locally owned hockey store in Oakville, a member of the Source for Sports buying group.
Corbett’s Source for Sports
Corbett’s is the Source for Sports store on the South Service Road in Oakville, beside the QEW, an independent business that is part of the national buying group. Its service counter is hockey-focused: skates are sharpened by technicians approved for ProSharp’s system, and the counter also profiles blades and handles the fitting work that comes with new skates.
It also repairs baseball and softball gloves, so it stays busy outside the hockey season, but in winter the skate counter is the draw. Ask for the same hollow and profile each time, and keep a note of them, if you want your edges to feel the same after every sharpening.
Trafalgar Park Community Centre and Kinoak Arena are each a little over 2 km away, and Glen Abbey Community Centre is just beyond them.
Sharpens: hockey, profiling / contouring. Not stated: goalie, figure, speed / long-track, recreational & rental.
Blades they sharpen
Hockey skates; blade profiling and balancing, contouring and alignment with shims.
Fitting & heat molding
Custom hockey skates, heat molding, stretching and punching; Bauer Game Fit Centre and FitLab retailer.
Repairs
Skate repair and holder and runner replacement.
