Tydan Performance Blades (Burlington)
Tydan Performance Blades, a Dundas-based hockey blade company, keeps a counter inside Mr. Lube + Tires Arena on Northside Road in north Burlington. It sells replacement player and goalie steel and offers Skatescribe’s integrated sharpening and profiling, in which the blade is laser-scanned and then cut by a CNC machine to the profile, pitch and hollow on record.
Because the setup is stored in Tydan’s system, a player can have the same cut reproduced at any Tydan counter, or on a new set of runners, without starting over. If you have never had a custom profile, ask about the profile consultation before your first ISP.
Mainway Ice Centre is under 2 km away and Mountainside Arena is about 2 km, so the counter is handy for players at several Burlington rinks.
Sharpens: hockey, profiling / contouring. Not stated: goalie, figure, speed / long-track, recreational & rental.
