What this place is
Skate sharpening and rentals at Varsity Arena, paid at the Pavilion Desk at the entrance and done inside the arena, during drop-in skate programs.

Varsity Arena is the University of Toronto’s rink on Bloor Street and during its drop-in skate programs staff will sharpen skates for students and members of the public alike. You pay at the Pavilion Desk by the entrance and then take your skates into the arena, where the work is done.
It is a hockey-only service, which suits the shinny, stick-and-puck and public skates on the drop-in timetable, and students pay less than visitors. Figure skaters should look elsewhere: the arena does not sharpen figure blades, and there is no sharpening during drop-in figure skating sessions.
Because the counter works around the drop-in schedule, check the program calendar on the same page before you set out. Moss Park Arena is the nearest other indoor rink, a short subway or streetcar ride east.
