The Northshire Civic Center's rink in Manchester, a non-profit home for hockey, skating and summer festivals.
Riley Rink at Hunter Park is the ice at the Northshire Civic Center, a non-profit civic center in Manchester that serves children, teens, adults and families across Southern Vermont. The center grew outward from the rink, and it relies on donors to keep its programs going.
In winter the rink fills with hockey, figure skating and learn-to-skate classes, and the Northshire Skating Academy teaches first-time skaters of every age. Adult hockey runs from the coed Silver Blades program to the Rusty Blades women's pickup group, and from the 2026-27 season an over-50 pickup session takes the ice on Tuesday and Friday mornings. BBA high school games take over some weeks after Thanksgiving.
In spring the space turns into turf for field sports and training, and in summer the grounds become a festival venue for concerts and craft fairs that draw thousands to the Green Mountains.
